Delegates at last week's Fractional Summit, held at the Marriott in London's Mayfair, were told that the shared ownership industry had failed to educate agents and consumers enough in 2009.
During a panel discussion on the role of agents in fractional sales, Simon Scott-Nelson, a director of Winkworth Estate Agents in the Southwest of England, said he was the only agent selling fractional in his region.
“Most agents think it’s too much work for too little a reward, with the added fuss of learning about regulation and complex legal structures,” he said. "Fractional does give us access to higher end developments, but buyers don't know enough about it."
